Independent service

Dogshit Players is an independent community service. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Valve Corporation or Steam. Valve, Steam, Steam Community, and related marks belong to their respective owners.

Authentication and public data

Steam OpenID is used only to verify control of the signing-in Steam account. Dogshit Players never receives the member’s Steam password. After explicit consent, the backend may request that same member’s public profile summary from the Steam Web API. The API key remains on the trusted backend in Azure Key Vault.

No unknown-account lookup

Public search operates only on registered data already stored by Dogshit Players. It does not scrape Steam Community pages, use SteamID I/O, call ResolveVanityURL, enrich an unknown account, or create a profile because somebody searched for it.

Data and availability

Public Steam data is provided as-is by its source and may be delayed, incomplete, changed, private, or unavailable. Dogshit Players does not warrant Steam data accuracy or continued access to Steam services. Members can request an explicit refresh subject to the service cooldown.
